RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN is the results of a full-year of work. Qualifying events are held across the country, throughout the calendar year, as ropers and riders hope to compete in Arlington during “the world’s richest weekend in Western Sports!”

The annual two-day event is held at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and unites the top athletes in the world from the PRCA and pits them against underdogs who advance from THE AMERICAN Semi-Finals, together to battle for the biggest single paycheck of their lives.
How To Qualify For The American

The American Semi-Finals are held at Cowtown Coliseum in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Approximately 700 contests compete over four days for the chance to advance to The American and to compete for the $1,000,000 side pot. In addition to the competition inside Cowtown Coliseum, fans will be able to enjoy the FanZone in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. While there, they can attend concerts, watch demonstrations, enjoy food trucks and much more.This independent guide is not affiliated with The American Rodeo.

There are three ways to qualify for competition in The American. The top contestants in the world receive invitations. Additionally, a handful of exemptions are offered to the brightest stars in the sport.
